Summary:Letters to Sarah Howard relate to social, business and family matters, notably a petition contesting her son Charles' succession to the title Earl of Wicklow ca. 1870. A letter from William Proby, 5th Earl of Carysfort, describes the visit of Princes Albert and George to Dublin in June 1887. Among the correspondents are William Howard, 4th Earl of Wicklow, Sir Ralph Howard, Edmond R. Wodehouse, of London, Emily Wilbraham, her grandson Ralph Howard, later 7th Earl of Wicklow. With some attached envelopes.


Also included is an undated letter from Howard to her niece Olivia Finlay, of Corkagh House, Dublin.
