Summary:Tighe's letters, dated 13 June to 15 October 1796, are written from various locations in England and Wales, including Scarborough, Swansea, Ludlow and Cowbridge. She writes of her husband Henry Tighe's building a house (13 June), her social engagements, reading Milton and Burney's novel 'Camilla', travelling around Yorkshire, expeditions to Green Hammerton and Harrogate , visiting a Moravaian settlement in Fulneck, Wentworth Castle, an 'Old Maid's Hospital' [Wandesforde House] in York and the Powys estate at Welshpool. She also describes her impressions of Liverpool and the evidence of wealth and recent construction in the city (15 Oct).


Reference is also made to Caroline Tighe's visiting her relatives in Woodstock, Co. Kilkenny.
