Summary:Contains letters from Lady Betty Fownes to her friend Mrs. Goddard (possibly Elinor Goddard)concerning her own poor health, her hopes that Goddard might visit her (1777) and the upset in her household following the arrival of Lady Eleanor Butler who refused to part from Lady Betty's relative Sarah Ponsonby - 'Miss B was let in to the Hall Window by SP and hid in her closet' [1778].


Her letter, dated 4 July 1778, was written at her daugher Sarah Tighe's home at Rossana, Co. Wicklow and includes annotations made by her granddaugher Caroline Hamilton, indicating the letter was written days before her death.
