Summary: | Typescript letters to Ria Mooney from Sir Ian Hunter (artistic director of the Edinburgh Festival 1950-1954), in which Hunter discusses the possibility of the Abbey Theatre and Mooney taking part in the Edinburgh Festival 1954, of which he is artistic director. He also discusses possible future festivals in Dublin, including a Yeats Festival. As part of these discussions, he includes a copy of a letter from Louis Elliman in which Elliman suggests a Dublin theatre festival programme under the direction of the Glyndebourne Society Ltd. Includes response from Mooney regarding forwarding papers from Hunter to the Minister for External Affairs and attempts to contact Elliman. |
