Printed text below gives general information concerning the school by the Hon. and Rev. John French, Tullabeg College, Rahan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly [then known as Kings' County]. Tullabeg College or St. Stanislaus College was founded as a boarding school for boys under the age of thirteen in 1818; the school closed in 1866 with the pupils transferring to Clongowes. Handwritten manuscript note on verso, dated 31 October 1855, Clondalkin [Co. Dublin] - "My dear Sir, Clarke gave your good [...] permission to walk this day and I will add much to the many compliments. I am yours Fr. T. C.C., Rathcoole and Roundstone.
