Notes:The Abbey Theater made it's first American tour in 1911-12. During the tour performances of Synge's 'The Playboy of the Western World' provoked disturbances in various cities and in Philadelphia the entire cast was arrested and charged with indecency at the instigation of the local Clan na Gael organiser Joseph McGarrity. Udolphus Wright took part in this tour and the Irish American lawyer and art collector John Quinn bailed out the Abbey actors who were arrested in Philadelphia in January 1912.
