A programme of lectures in Foras Muiridhe na hÉireann [The Maritime Institute of Ireland], 8 Merrion Square, Dublin 2, October 13 1943 - April 19 1944. The logo of the organisation on front cover depicts a Viking longboat at sea. Printed on blue paper. Introduction to lectures reads: 'The objects for which the Institute has been established are of the first importance to all Irishmen who are interested in the sea from a professional, academic, commercial or recreational standpoint. Its aims and objects should make an instant appeal to the many thousands of Irishmen who believe that maritime development is essential for an island nation'. A selection of the lecture titles include "The Sea! Why we love it", "The Irish Coast","The story of the port of Cork" given to Dr. Liam O' Sullivan; "The advantages of a free port", "Franco-Irish Maritime Relations" given by Dr. Richard Hayes.
