Whiteboy Trial : turning up land & c., Limerick special commission, May 1831 ... Michael Devitt and Martin Storin were indicted capitally, under the Whiteboy Acts, with endeavouring to induce one Martin Kelly, under threats of inflicting some bodily injury, to join in a certain unlawful combination, for the purpose of Turning up the Land of Ross, Co. Clare ... the Jury retired for a few minutes, and returned a verdict of Guilty against bothy prisoners, who were next day sentenced to death!!!
