Patriotic Fund :
At a meeting of the inhabitants of the Barony of Demifore, in the County of Westmeath, held at Castlepollard on the 9th November, 1854, for the purpose of opening a subscription in aid of the Patriotic Fund ... it was proposed ... "that a subscription be entered into in aid of the Patriotic Fund, established for the purpose of assisting the widows and children of those who have fallen, or may hereafter fall, in the war with Russia" ...
