Notes:Concerning reports accusing Edelen of burning Protestant Bibles. This pamphlet reproduces the correspondence concerning the reports accusing Edelen of burning Protestant Bibles. One might assume, based on the names of the protagonists, that Brady would be the Catholic champion and Edelen, the Protestant. Actually, Edelen, (1783-1823), was the Catholic, a Jesuit in fact, who was born in Charles, Maryland in 1783 and died on December 21, 1823 in Newtown, Maryland. Father Edelen was pastor of St. Francis Xavier Church, Newtown, Maryland.
