Deering's [sic] Alphabet of English Knights;
|Main Creator:||Ireland. Genealogical Office|
Inscription at the beginning of the volume reads "This Alphabet of Knights was made 1639 by Anthony Dering third [denoted by a star symbol, the appropriate heraldic brissure] S. of Sr Anthony Dering of Surrenden in Pluckley in Kent". This is accompanied by a short pedigree of three generations. The work records knights dubbed, the year of their conferring and a description of their arms. A list at the end of the work extends beyond the 1639 date, being a list of "Knights made by the L. Protector" with dates between 1653 and 1658.
