Description: Says that in this letter, he is not writing to Deasy "in your capacity of Officer in the IRA" and defends his position on criticising Deasy's attempts to enter peace discussions with the Free State - "... the murdering of the unarmed prisoners has made the cause doubly sacred ... Horrid deeds of blood bespeak disordered minds in the perpetrators of them. It was an appalling national crime to violate a solemn agreement for a Coalition Government returned by the people, and to wade ankle deep in the blood of our dead comrades in obedience to the British Cabinet Order ...".
