In Collection: Ernie O'Malley Papers, 1916-1949
Description: Writes: "Your misguided action will cause us a certain set-back, but this will be got over and the war waged more vigorously than ever ... The enemy should by this time realise what terms we will accept. We will fight to the death to maintain Irish Independence ... I am convinced that if both sides face the situation and forget the horrors of civil war, there may be no more unnecessary bloodshed. Hoping that peace will soon be attained and that your life will be spared to the Nation".
