Summary:Letterpress broadside offering a reward of eight hundred and twenty pounds for information that may lead to the prosecution or conviction of people responsible for the death of James Haggarty - "Communications of any particulars will be received by Henry Smyth, Esq. Barbavilla". Includes the names of those who promised to pay the sums affixed to their names for public or private information that may lead to people related to the murder and outrage. First lines read: "Whereas on the night of Wednesday, the 7th day of June, 1826, between the hours of ten and eleven o'clock, an armed party, from twenty to thirty in number, attacked the house of John Brady, on the Lands Gilliards-town, Parish of Castlepollard, and County of Westmeath, with a view of punishing him for taking land in the aforesaid Parish, on the Estate of W. Barlow Smyth of Barbavilla, Esq. ... accompanied by James Haggarty, who recognised some of the party, on which Haggarty was shot dead".
