Dublin Castle, 23 February, 1831. Gentlemen I am directed by His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant to refer you to the circular letter addressed by the Right Honourable E. G. Stanley to the magistrates of Ireland in December last....
Refers to a letter addressed to the magistrates of Ireland by E. G. Stanley regarding to the violation of public peace law - "...Magistrates are authorized to prevent, as well as to suppress Tumultuous Meetings...". At foot of sheet: "I have the honor to be, gentlemen, your most obedient, humble servant, William Gosset".
