Summary:	Refers to a meeting of magistrates of the Queen's County held at Maryboro [now Portlaoise, Co. Laois], persuant to public requisition, on Friday the 10th of June 1831 concerning the proposal to form a volunteer armed association 'under the sanction of government' - last page is a blank form of enrolment for the Queen's County Armed Association for the Preservation of the Peace. Includes extracts from a letter from Colonel Gosset. At top right on recto is handwritten: "W/M G. Davis, 1829".
