Grand Magic Lanthern : exhibiting a variety of well known figures, scenes from real life and fanciful illusions.
Satirical broadside, which comments in disguised language on such topics as the attempted 'assassination' of the then Lord Lieutenant Richard Colley Wellesley during the Theatre Royal Incident, Protestant rights and Robert Emmet's ghost. (On William III's birthday the decoration of his monument in College Green provoked disturbances. At the request of Richard Colley Wellesley, the Lord Mayor prohibited the decoration of the statue - a riot followed and troops were called out. Subsequently, many 'Orange' broadsides and prints were issued attacking the Lord Lieutenant).
