Broadside [with various references made to the Roman Catholic Church and the Pope] and other comments on topics such as absentee landlordism and contemporary politicians [such as Evelyn John Shirley who was returned as a Tory member for Monaghan in the 18 August 1830 general election]. Foot of poster reads: 'Admittance, gratis, to all who have more reason to laugh than to cry. God save the Pope and Emperor of China'. Hand-written note on verso reads: 'Addressed to Rev. Henry Maffett, Monaghan'. The "A--r L-w-s, Esq." refers to Arthur Lewis].
