Extracts of a private letter : Russian Camp before Giurgevo, on the Lower Danube, July 28th 1828.
Extract of a private letter related to the Russo-Turkish War (1828-1829) signed by C.R.O'Donnell, late 15th Hussars. First lines text read: "I have reserved thus far, in my attempt to visit the Russian Army as Anateur, for the purpose of observing its operations against the Turks ... have almost gone through fire and water to attain the fulfilment of my wishes, but have only as yet succeeded in reaching the banks of the Lower Danube". Handwritten on last page on verso: "Miss [?] / from C.R.O'Donnell, January 1829".
