| Summary: | 19th century Irish political satire poster. On William III's birthday the decoration of his monument in College Green invariably provoked disturbances. At the request of Wellesley, the Lord Mayor prohibited the decoration of the statue. A riot followed and troops were called out. Many 'Orange' broadsides and prints were issued attacking the Lord Lieutenant. |
