Summary:Poster printed for the British HMS Agamemnon (1852), [a 91-gun screw-propelled second-rate launched in 1852 and sold in 1870], advertising their on-board production of Charles Selby's farcical play 'The Unfinished Gentleman', taking place in what is termed (tongue in cheek) the 'Theatre Royal HMS Agamemnon'. Extract from copy reads: 'On Wednesday next the 21st May, 1861 (wind and weather permitting) under the patronage of Capt. Thos. [Thomas] Hope and the Officers ... the performances will commence with the laughable farce in one Act by Charles Selby Esq entitled 'The Unfinished Gentleman.'
