Item also contains reference to another pamphlet entitled ''Freemasonry in Dublin'', suggesting necessary reform of the Grand Lodge establishment, reminding them of the obligations of the Freemasons and highlighting how the old Grand Lodge is [in the opinion of the author] controlled by self-seeking Dublin Traders. Opening of letter reads: 'To Judge Berrik [Bewick?]...the appointments of the British Government within the past few years, have formed such a contrast to those of all previous periods, so much in accordance with the march of progress, intelligence, and justice, in almost every case, the individual selected for the Bench, the Church... |
