Publication of the objectives of the newly formed Monagahan Constitutional Registration Club in 1839 which was chaired by Colonel John Madden. Part of text reads: 'That the members of this society do form themselves in their respective baronies into district committees and appoint a secretary to each, for the furtherance of the objects of this society - that their duty shall be, first to ascertain the legally entitled, but as yet unregistered persons in their district...secondly, to enquire into the qualifications of persons giving notice to register...'
