Bibliographic Details
Summary:A broadside petition against the Act of Union - "Humbly sheweth, that the persons whose names are hereunto subscribed, freeholders of the County of Tipperary, beg leave to approach this honorable house, and to assure it of their inviolable attachment to that connection which so happily subsists between His Majesty's realms of Great Britain and Ireland, which they shall ever, most sincerely, endeavour to maintain. That your petitioners ... are convinced the measure of a legislative union will tend much more to weaken than fortify that connection; and therefore, your petitioners do humbly intreat this honorable house, to maintain, unimpaired, the settlement of 1782; to preserve to your petitioners and their posterity, the blessings of a free and independent Parliament resident within this kingdom". At foot of sheet: "And your petitioners, as in duty bound, shall ever pray".
