Description: Correspondence of John Pitt Kennedy with William Courtenay, 10th Earl of Devon, mostly undated. Topics include Devon's upcoming marriage to Elizabeth Ruth Middleton Scott (whom he identifies on as "Lord Meath's niece"), Kennedy's opinion on various bills, sale of property, an offer of a parish to Devon's nephew Rev. Francis Courtenay, Devon's opinion of Kennedy's "digest", public works, famine relief, flax growing and other agricultural matters. Also includes correspondence about estimated returns and other financial matters of the "Irish estate". Also included are two letters from Kennedy to "Lord Devon" (William Reginald Courtenay, 11th Earl of Devon), and an agricultural report on the Devon estate dated 1847.
