Description: Correspondence of John Pitt Kennedy with General Sir William Napier, an Irish soldier and military historian who was the younger brother of Sir Charles Napier. Letters concern family and personal matters, including Charles Napier's affairs (especially concerning Sir James Outram and the annexation of Sind), and the poor health of William's son John Moore Napier. Correspondence also includes discussions on general political and military affairs in India. Also includes a dictated letter from an ill William asking that John Pitt should finish his "History of Scinde" should anything happen to him.
