Description: Contains business and personal correspondence. Many letters from members of the King family, earls of Kingston. Several outgoing letters of the 3rd Earl of Mount Cashell concerning a letter published about him in the Cork Southern Reporter including a letter to the editor. Letter from the Earl of Bandon about Eton College. Correspondence from his family including many letters from his cousin Sidney Coape, the granddaughter of Lord Kingston. She was at the time attempting to legally separate from her husband, Henry Coe Coape. They eventually divorced in 1861, many of her letters refer to the separation proceedings. Also includes correspondence from R.B. More of Linley Hall, Shropshire about the origins of the More family. A letter from John Dillon Croker of Quarterstown about salmon fishing on the Blackwater and from Robert Uniacke about getting potato seed. Several letters refer to his daughter 'Isabella' [Lady Anna Maria Isabella Moore] and her financial concerns including letters from her sister-in-law Charlotte M. Smyth of Ballynatray [wife of the fifth Earl of Mount Cashell] and from her father-in-law R.P. Jodrell after the death of her first husband R.P.H. Jodrell. Also includes correspondence from agents including letters from John. S. Cummins of Lobo House, London, Ontario and John Boyes, Amherst Island, Ontario who were Mount Cashell's agents for his Canadian estates. Also includes a letter from the Office of the Scientific American relating to the granting of a patent for an unspecified invention.
