Description: Contains legal and personal correspondence. Includes letters relating to tenants, rents and legal cases. Letters from Smyth's agent in Limerick, William Cleary, regarding the difficulty in serving writs on Smyth's tenants and the danger to Cleary's family. Letters from Joseph Lindsay Curtis about Great Southern and Western Railway Company's line extension in Limerick and the marriage settlement of Smyth's daughter Charlotte Mary to Charles William Moore [5th Earl of MountCashell] as well as letters conerning legal proceudres for serving writs on tenants and legal costs. Letters from tenants about the railway extensions in Limerick including David Tracy, stating that 'the railway engineers have entered my lands and are inclined to carry out the works...'. Letters concerning John Hannan's land in Garrynoe, a list of tenants to be served with writs in Gibbonstown and Ballycullane and a letter from Edward Hannan about his brother's illness. Also contains letters from Gertrude, Lady Dinorben [née Gertrude Smyth] about paying interest on a loan of their brother John Rowland Smyth. Letters from Smyth's agent at Ballynatray, John G. Adams, concerning estate matters.
