Description: Contains a typescript letter from Bell to her sister Maud Sergeant written from a British run 'Girl Typist Camp' in Dehli in November 1917, a letter from Esme McRae, written from Firozpore, describing events in the immediate aftermath of the Amritsar massacre and written 15-16 April [1919], letters from Mrs. Lilian Starr (1923), Mrs. Shyamala Murthi, regarding the Indian Armed Forces journal 'Fauji Akhbar' (1939), her correpondence with Field Marshall Sir Archibald Wavell concerning Indian soldiers who were held as P.O.W.s in Germany during World War II (December 1941) and letters from politicians Leo Amery, written from the India Office, Whitehall (1944-5) and Brendan Bracken (1945).
