In Collection: Holroyd-Smyth Family Papers, 1618-1965
Description: Contains genealogical notes on the Smyth family compiled by Alice Holroyd Smyth, c.1919-1924 consisting mainly of notes, scraps and transcripts from family papers. Includes some biographical details on members of the family and suggests an attempt by her to organise the papers. Includes a watercolour drawn by her. Many papers within the Holroyd-Smyth collection are annotated by Alice Holroyd Smyth, usually with biographical details or with summaries of the contents of the manuscripts. Also includes a newspaper article about Ballynatray House from the Irish Times [24 February 1940].

Other papers include genealogical notes on the Moore family including the descent of the Earl of Mount Cashell from Edward III.

Also includes extracts from the memorandum book of Henry Nugent Bell [1792-1822], a professional genealogist. Extracts mainly concern Olivia Serres [nee Wilmot] alias Princess Olive of Cumberland and her claims to royalty.
