Summary: | Writes "John [Seán MacSwiney] is in Kingston Penitentiary at present. I went to see him at Xmas and found his health good. He was subjected to very brutal treatment some time ago because he would not put on the English uniform and fight for the freedom of every small nation in the world except his own ... It was reported De Valera has escaped from prison and had gone to Paris to the Peace Conference. It was later reported he was dead in Skibbereen Co. Cork.
