Description: Response to letter from the Cork Industrial Development Association to Fred Cronin (MS 49,526/4/1)explaining the special circumstances which led to the use of a non-Irish hearse and expresses regret that a hearse of the kind could not be made in Ireland.

MacSwiney was a prominent member of the Industrial Development Association and of Sinn Fein, bodies which emphasised support for home industry.
