Description: Contains letters on horticulture written by Sir Henry Seton Steuart of Allanton House, Lanarkshire, the botanist Alphonse de Candolle of Geneva, and writer Maria Edgeworth. Edgeworth's letters also refer to social engagements and her hopes of meeting Hamilton in Edgeworthstown.

Also included is a list of plants sent to the Hamwood estate, 'from Whitefields'.
