Description: Contains letters from Mde A. Dufour, governess to the FitzGerald's children, [Lord Henry] FitzGerald, Augustus FitzGerald, 3rd Duke of Leinster and his wife Lady Charlotte Augusta FitzGerald. The letters relate to social matters and the health of mutual friends and acknowledge the receipt of books and paintings sent to them by Hamilton.

Also included is an invitation from the Duke to Caroline and Charles Hamilton to attend a lunch Carton House during the visit of Queen Victoria (1849). Charles Hamilton was the duke's land agent.
