Summary:Contains letters to Hamilton from her friends and associates, among them the poet Thomas Moore, Frederick Hervey, 5th Earl of Bristol, Sarah Ponsonby and various members of the Duke of Leinster's household, including Augustus FitzGerald, 3rd Duke and his wife Lady Charlotte. Also included is a notebook containing her jottings on gardening, and a statement outlining her plans for the distribution of her personal belongings after her death.

Notes:Marianne Caroline Hamilton (1777-1861) was the second and youngest daughter of William Tighe, of Rossana, Co. Wicklow and Sarah (née Fownes). A talent artist, she received instruction from the art master John Inigo Spilsbury of Harrow, England. In 1801 she married Charles Hamilton of Hamwood, near Dunboyne, Co. Meath. Herself an amateur poet and memoirist, Hamilton was a first cousin and sister-in-law of the poet Mary Tighe.
