| Notes: | Included is an attached loose fragment (MS 49155/5/1), containing a verse transcribed by Charles Hamilton and annotated on the verso by his mother Caroline Hamilton - her note reads 'The first words Charles ever wrote, may the same sentiment prevade his last CH'. MS 49,155/6/3 also contains a pencil sketch. Charles William Hamilton (1802-1880) was the eldest child of Charles Hamilton of Hamwood House, Co. Meath and Caroline Hamilton (née Tighe). He succeeded to the family estate of Hamwood following his father's death in 1857, and like his father, worked as an agent to the dukes of Leinster and his relative Daniel Tighe of Rossana, Co.
