Notes: | Marianne Caroline Hamilton (1777-1861) was the second and youngest daughter of William Tighe, of Rossana, Co. Wicklow and Sarah (née Fownes). A talent artist, she received instruction from the art master John Inigo Spilsbury of Harrow, England. In 1801 she married Charles Hamilton (1772-1857) of Hamwood, near Dunboyne, Co. Meath. Herself an amateur poet and memoirist, Hamilton was a first cousin and sister-in-law of the poet Mary Tighe. Physical description: 2 items more |
