Notes: | This item is held in the Ephemera Department. At top of sheet: "The following letter appeared in the [London] Spectator of 5 February, 1881: 'An Unexpressed feeling about Ireland. To the editor of the Spectator. [17, Highfield-Road,] Dublin, 30th January, 1881". First lines of the text of the reprinted letter read: "Sir, Nothing has ever made me so realize the sad gulf between England and Ireland as the perusal of your article, 'An unexpressed feeling about Ireland', in which you sum up British surprise at our attitude and sentiments towards you". At foot of page three: "Respectfully yours, Alfred Webb. Copies of this Letter will be supplied gratis, post free, on application to Edmund Harvey, Grange, Waterford, Ireland".
