Summary:A prayer of thanksgiving to be used in all churches and chapels in Ireland, on Sunday, 26 April, 1857 following the birth on 14 April 1857 of Queen Victoria's last child, who was christened Beatrice Mary Victoria Feodore, (1857-1944) and following her marriage to Prince Henry of Battenberg, was later known as Princess Henry of Battenberg. Includes note: "To be used at morning and evening service after general Thanksgiving, in all churches and chapels in Ireland, upon Sunday, the 26th day of April, 1857, or the Sunday after the respective Ministers of such churches and chapels shall receive the same." First lines of the prayer read "Almighty and merciful God, by whose providence the whole world is governed and preserved; we yield to Thee hearty thanks that it hath pleased Thee to deliver Thy servant our Sovereign Lady the Queen from the perils of childbirth, and to make her a joyful mother..."
