Note - this menu card was previously attached to a larger backing card, [30 x 23 cm], which obscured the text of a poem by Alfred Perceval Graves on the back - "A New Vision of Erin".

On recto is an engraving of Trinity College Dublin with the statue of Oliver Goldsmith by John Henry Foley in the foreground (the statue of Henry Grattan, also by Foley can just be seen and the Bank of Ireland on College Green, formerly seat of the Irish parliament to the Act of Union is seen in the distance).The name of the engraver F.S. Walker. Del. & Sc. is below this scene along with the words "Éire go bráth"

Text is in green ink on a white card surrounded by ornate interlace work. Text in the menu is written in Irish.

Members of the Dinner Committee include: Sir Charles Gavan Duffy K.C.M.G. [Chairman]; James George O'Keeffe [Treasurer]; Michael MacDonagh and Miss Charlotte O'Conor-Eccles [Honorary Secretaries]. It also includes Miss Marie Belloc, William Montgomery Crook, Francis Arthur Fahy, Alfred Perceval Graves, Emily Henrietta Hickey, Miss Elsa D'Esterre Keeling, Major Joseph McGuinness, Daniel Mescal, Graham P. Moore, David James O'Donoghue and Mark Ryan.

Toasts include: "The Old Country", proposed by W.M. Crook and responded to by John Agustus O'Shea. Mr Perceval Graves will read the poem entitled "A new vision of Erin" written by him for the dinner; "Irish Literature" proposed by Sophie Bryant and responded to by W.B. Yeats, Standish O'Grady and Justin McCarthy; "Sucess to the Irish Literary Society" proposed by Lionel Johnson, reponsed to by Alfred Perceval Graves. There will be an address and presentation made to Mr. Rolleston and a programme of Irish music, vocal and instrumental will be rendered at intervals.
