Souvenir programme featuring illustrations throughout by artist Thomas Fitzpatrick for a Dublin United Tramways Co. dinner in the Imperial Hotel, 9 June 1910. The cover depicts Erin, a harp under her arm and wearing a sash with 'DUT' on it [Dublin United Tramways] inviting staff of Dublin United Tramways Co. to the dinner, while a bird carries a card saying 'Welcome' in his beak - staff are shown arriving by tram. A round tower is depicted in the background. Other pages feature satirical cartoons giving a chronology of the history of the tramway service from 1871 finishing with a cartoon predicting the company's service in the future [in 1920 - where tram-like airplane will be able to fly on routes to Donnybrook, Sandymount and Rathmines]. The NLI hold's the original artwork at PD 2159 TX (14) 1 of the figures of J. C. Doyle and Vincent O'Brien which are published on the back page of this programme. The programme details the menu, toast list and music programme for the evening - works by the composers Moore, Balfe and Esposito amongst others, while the accompanist for the evening was Mr. John. F. Larchet.
