Dublin] to members of the League of Helpers urging them to raise a sum of £5 through various fund raising events such as picnics, concerts, raffles to contribute to the successful circulation and sale of the book 'Leabhar na h-Aiséirghe'. Part of letter reads: 'It was through the enthusiastic and generous help given by Members of this league that the Book was enabled to come into existence. In consideration of this fact, and following the Gaelic custom of naming the donors of rich and beautiful work that every heart gladdened by it may give thanks to the givers...a strong and wide-spread League is essential to the success of the book. You are invited to join...' |
