Summary:Barton remarks to O'Connor that "It might amuse you to get a letter on this date from this address. We are waiting for the cars to take us back to our house. This day's conference was the critical one. Here is a sketch of the positions of the members present". He includes a sketch of a long table, with little circles representing the "heads" of those present - seated on one side of the table [right to left] are: "G[eorge] Gavan Duffy, R[obert] Barton, Michael Collins, Arthur Griffith, Erskine Childers, Sec.[retary], E.[Eamonn] J. Duggan" and seated on the other side of the table were: "Sir Gordon Hewatt [Gordon Hewart, then Attorney General, later Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales from March 1922], Winston Churchill, Lord Birkenhead [Frederick Edwin Smith], Austen Chamberlain, [David] Lloyd George, Thomas Jones, Secretary, Sir [Laming] W.[orthington] Evans, Sir H[amar] Greenwood".
