Handbill issued by Queen Mary's Needlework Guild seeking articles of clothing for soldiers in the front line of action including flannel day-shirts, socks, pocket-handkerchiefs and other items. QMNG [Queen Mary's Needlework Guild] branches were set up throught England and Ireland during World War One with Queen Mary taking an active involvement in overseeing the Guild's work during the war. The Guild was founded in 1882 as the London Guild to provide orphanages with knitted garments. In 1889 it was renamed the London Needlework Guild and in August 1914 renamed the Queen Mary's Needlework Guild.
