Notes:This manuscript volume [the person who compiled it is unknown] contains diary entries for an Irish journey and fishing holiday centred in Galway with visits to Connemara, Derryclare, Kildonan and Dublin made between August 25th and September 15th, 1905. Contains much comment and opinion - topics covered include fishing and fisheries, wool manufacture in Ireland, Irish dress and marble quarries - this is supplemented with playing bridge, the weather, what the person ate for their meals, hotel tittle-tattle, etc.

Accompanied by a "midget postcard" with a black and white image of lillies [sent from Newcastle Upon Tyne postmarked "September 11 [19]05"] from "Fred" addressed to "Miss F.D. Young Railway Hotel, Recess, Co. Galway, Ireland"
