Description: Included are diary entries (dated June 1989) which refer to a weekend spent in Copenhagen, his election to the post of Professor of Poetry at Oxford University and drafts of the poems 'The Golden Bough', 'The Sitting', 'Crinonline', 'Resin', 'A Pillowed Head', 'Gaelic G' (collected under the title 'G as in Gaelic' in 'Hockney's Alphabets'), verses xxxviii and xliv in 'Squarings' and a twelve line poems beginning 'Cotyledon, flap your Greek-filmed wings' and 'Stacato and reflexive. A barrel rolled'.

Attached are loose worksheets with manuscript and typescript drafts of 'A Pillowed Head, 'The Sitting', 'The Settle Bed', 'Resin', 'Crinoline', 'Lustral Sonnet' and 'A Retrospect'. One worksheet dated 9 November 1990.
