| Notes: | The first letter to Gill, dated 14 December 1903, declares Redmond's intention in a forthcoming speech "to denounce the entire system of Government and administration in Ireland, winding up by the declaration that Home Rule alone is the remedy" and asking for help and advice; he refers to "Dublin Castle with its' extravagant staff...". The third letter dated 14 January 1905, asks Gill to calculate the cost of various desirable Irish projects including "a satisfactory scheme for housing the working classes in towns, a great scheme of arterial drainage, the necessary pier and harbour works, the foundation of a National University, necessary educational improvement" amongst other subjects, and asks "could all this be done by the amount we are over-taxed every year". The other two letters [dated 14 February 1904 and 23 January 1905 respectively] are brief acknowledgements. Three of the letters are written on embossed paper with the address 8, Leeson Park, Dublin.
