| Summary: | Thanks for pamphlet and letter, Léon should not write funny messages, glad that case will come up in America in the Autumn, Colum is not seeing about Miss Barney and Lucia's lettrines as he is worried about his wife who has had an operation for a tumour, Joyce asked Dr Codet should Lucia be told about the proposed operation on his eyes or about Mrs Colum's operation, Mrs Jolas told Lucia a little about Joyce's eyes and Lucia sent Joyce a letter the tone of which he did not like, Feldkirch must be boring so his wife suggested Lucia and the nurse should go to Lucerne for August, Léon nearly lost the tenancy of the London flat by delaying the estate agent's letter but Joyce is not angry, does not see why Léon should be interested in long letters about Lucia, Joyce cannot send Léon what he promised as he cannot realise his War Loan stock, his solicitor has not made arrangements for his monthly remittance, can Léon find out if there is any result from the talks Pinker is having with Lane, Miss Allgood and Eliot, Vogt is annoyed with Joyce, he will not accept money so can Léon arrange to get some publicity for him in the English press. |
