Streedagh Fossils, North Sligo.

Streedagh, Nth. Sligo has fine beaches and sand dunes.The carboniferous limestone rocks at Streedagh contain many species of fossil coral. Zaphrentis are particularly common here, formed about four hundred million years ago. From the point on the Streedagh beach shown in the photograph, one looks out towards Innismurray island.
