Bandon River, The Stretch
|Main Creator:||Connolly, Paddy, photographer|
Bandon River upstream of main bridge, it is planned to widen the river by a 10 metre compound channel on North (right hand)bank to relieve flooding. Chimney on left was built in 1932 to service a steam engine in a grain mill. It was never used because the owner died before it was completed and the mill was converted to oil and electric power. The chimney is now leaning towards the camera.
